Upperclassmen, faculty, staff honored in chapel

Twenty-five students and 23 faculty and staff members were recognized for outstanding achievement during Honors Day chapel on April 27. Honorees included:


Student Awards

Joey Bruno
Bruno

Joey Bruno, who received the F.R. Rogers Senior Award in Bible, presented to a senior who excels as a Bible student and who manifests true Christian consecration.

Flores

Seth Flores, who received the Melvin M. Seguine Award, presented to a senior man who plans to attend graduate school in preparation for missionary or pastoral service.

Pugh

Julia Pugh received the John C. Anderson Award, presented to a graduating biblical studies major who has excelled academically throughout his or her Bible program.

Walker

Nichole Walker received the Christian Ministry Award to an Outstanding Senior, for her accomplishments in that major.

Pool

Amelia Pool received the Senior Communication Studies Scholarship Award and the Outstanding Senior in Spanish Award, for her accomplishments in those majors.

 McGehee

Natalie McGehee received the F.R. Rogers Senior Award in Music, presented to an outstanding music student.

Roberts

Patrick Roberts received the Chorale Member of the Year for his contribution to that ensemble.

Bacon

Elise Bacon received the Chamber Singer of the Year award for her contribution to that musical group.

Hundley

Winters

Jason Hundley and Justin Winters received the Hilltop Players Senior Award for their contribution to the college theatre troupe.

Jones

Heather Jones received the Outstanding Senior in Business Award for her accomplishments in that major.

Wilkens

Katie Wilkens received the Outstanding Senior in History Award for her accomplishments in that major.

Stout

Justus Stout received the Outstanding Senior in Politics and Government Award for his accomplishments in that major. He also received the Robert and Nancy Spoede Sanctity of Human Life award for his efforts on behalf of the pro-life movement.

Zimmerman

Andrew Zimmerman received the Senior Mathematics Award for his accomplishments in that major.

 Ferrante

Ben Ferrante received the Outstanding Senior in Computer Science Award for his accomplishments in that major.

Andrews

Pratt

Ben Andrews and Lauren Pratt received the Senior Psychology Award for their accomplishments in that major.

Haley

Young

Anna Haley and Alison Young received the Outstanding Senior in Exercise and Health Science Award for their accomplishments in that major.

 Kopeski

Kaity Kopeski received the Triangle Senior Award for her contributions to the student newspaper staff.

Hill

Stephen Hill received the William Jennings Bryan Philological Award for outstanding accomplishments in the English major.

 Ammen

Elijah Ammen received the Richard M. Cornelius Award of Excellence in Research Writing, presented to the senior whose thesis best exemplifies the standards of excellence upheld by Dr. Cornelius.

Cummings

Jared Cummings received the Willard L. Henning Biology Award for outstanding achievement in that major.

Wilson

Danielle Wilson received the Judson A. Rudd Testimony and Influence Award, given to the upperclassman with an outstanding Christian testimony who exerts the best Christian influence on incoming students. The recipient is selected by the freshman class.

Newton

Young

Scott Newton and Alison Young received the Lion of Valor Award, presented to the top male and female athletes at Bryan, who model the character of Christ.
