Dayton, TN - Father Ryan baseball player Drew Brown signed a letter of intent to play for Bryan College. The young man plays corner infield and pitches for the Irish. He is the first signee of Bryan's 2008 recruiting class and a solid addition to the young Lion baseball program.
The coaching staff at Bryan is very excited about having Drew as a part of their program. "Drew is a very talented young man who is already mature enough to make a positive impact on our program, " Coach Johnson commented. "His strong work ethic will benefit him both on and off the field, making him very successful." Drew's power pitching will help deepen the Bryan pitching staff and his power at the plate will make the Lion's lineup stronger.
A committed young man in the classroom Drew will receive academic scholarship in addition to his baseball scholarship. Drew had this to say about signing at Bryan: "I am very excited to be a part of a growing program where the coaching staff cares about their players and help make them better both on and off the field." Father Ryan baseball coach Mike Mascari commented on Drew's work ethic, "Drew has always worked hard and pushed his teammates to get better. His hard work will help him be a successful baseball player in college." There were a lot of Father Ryan students and faculty on hand to witness the signing as well as several of Drew's former elementary school teachers. His family attended as well; Drew's mother, Sharon Brown, is "very excited about the solid education he will receive at Bryan and the opportunity he has to play baseball."
