Pre-Conference Participant Information
If you are a Bryan student interested in presenting a paper at the Friday, March 16, 2012, Undergraduate Research Conference, please note the following pre-conference information:
Call for AbstractsThe Bryan Center for Undergraduate Research welcomes submissions for the Spring Undergraduate Research Conference at Bryan College. This year’s plenary speaker is Dr. Nathan Hitchcock, Assistant Professor of Christian Thought and Heritage at Sioux Falls Seminary.
Undergraduates in all disciplines are encouraged to submit their work for presentation. To be considered for participation, send a 250-word abstract to Dr. Brian Eisenback and Dr. Salvatore Musumeci. The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, February 3. In addition to the abstract, please include a brief biography (3-5 sentences). A panel of faculty reviewers will judge abstracts. Students will then be notified of decisions by February 7.
If accepted, the student will give a 15-minute presentation at the March 16 conference. Awards will be presented for the top three presentations ($200, $100, $50). Participants also have the option to turn in a research paper to be considered for the top paper awards ($200, $100, $50).

This workshop is designed to assist those interested in submitting an abstract of their research for possible inclusion in the March 16 Undergraduate Research Conference.
Abstract Submission DeadlineE-mail your abstract to Dr. Brian Eisenback and Dr. Salvatore Musumeci by Friday, February 3. Selections will be made by Tuesday, February 7.

Preparing for Your Presentation Workshop
This workshop will introduce the 2012 student presenters to the etiquette of, and expectations for, presenters and attendees of professional academic conferences.
Thursday, March 15, 3 - 5 p.m. 7 - 9 p.m., Library 2nd Floor – PowerPoint presentation due
Practicing your Presentation Workshop (Mandatory)
This time is set aside for the student presenters to practice delivering their presentations and to review the PowerPoint file that will accompany the presentation. BCUR council members will be present to provide feedback.
