“Art helps expand, shape, and enrich our worldview,” Ms. Yager said. “Our hope is that this exhibit will encourage us to explore multiple expressions of the life of Christ especially during the advent season and to encourage creativity within our community.”
Artists included in the exhibit include Laura James from New York with Antiguan heritage, Viera Hlonikova from Slovakia, Sadao Watanabe from Japan, and Rudolph Bostic, an African American Outsider Artist from Georgia.
“The quality and variety of the exhibit coming to Bryan is normally what we would have to travel to Chattanooga, Nashville, or Atlanta to see,” Ms. Davis said. “Instead, the exhibit is coming to us. I am excited about our whole community having the opportunity to have this experience. I hope this will get good conversations started that might not come up otherwise.”
The exhibit will open with a public reception in the library Nov. 20 from 2 to 5 p.m., and will be open through December 16 during regular library hours.
