Food Service Director A. J. Caudill signals that an order is ready as the Patio Grille opened for business Tuesday. |
“We plan to be open for three or four meals a week, lunch or dinner, weather permitting,” he said.
The patio was added to the northeast corner of the student center this summer, to allow the Pioneer College Caterers’ staff to provide this new opportunity. Conveniently located near the residence halls and the year-old SubZone on the student center’s second floor, the patio offers outdoor seating.
“Students seemed excited about this,” Mr. Caudill said. “The crowd never spilled out onto the lawn, but it seemed the tables were full during the whole lunch rush.”
He said there is no set schedule for the cookouts, but students should be alert to signs around campus, as well as the Patio Grille flag flying to show that the grille is open.
