Bryan President Dr. Stephen Livesay said Dr. Dreisbach has been asked to speak on the attitudes concerning religion and the state of those at the time of the writing of the Constitution and the implications of those thoughts for today.
“We are delighted to welcome a scholar of Dr. Dreisbach’s standing to formally open our academic year. His field of study should provide challenging commentary as the United States struggles to decide how we will honor – or discard – the foundational truths that made this country great,” he said.
Convocation is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, in Rudd Auditorium and is open to the public without charge.
