Mission
The Honors Program introduces its students to the habits of the mind associated with a liberal arts education in the Christian tradition. The relationship of the “tassel and the cross” is an integration many think cannot exist in modern culture. The Honors Program strives to facilitate a renewed emphasis upon a Christian liberal arts education that strives to instill a balanced learning experience, including the humanities, letters, the sciences, and the arts. To that end, we have structured our courses around a set of ideas, concepts and themes that have been central to the development of our Christian tradition and our Western heritage. In the end, each student’s time in the Honors Program will not only be characterized by the relationships with their instructors, but also by their interactions both in and outside of the classroom.
