Bryan students intern their way to success

Will Jones, ‘14, walked into Career Services because he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life after graduation. With two majors – English and Politics and Government – he had options, but needed some direction. After meeting with career services staff, Will said he was given the opportunity to apply for an internship with the Tennessee State Legislature.

“Career Services directed me through the process of applying, and everyone was very helpful,” said Will. “The director walked me through the steps I needed to take to apply – developing a working resume, gathering faculty recommendations, writing an essay, and putting together work experience.”

After submitting his application, Will traveled to Nashville for a quick interview. He was later offered an internship in Sen. Ken Yager’s office, where he’ll do “whatever they throw my way,” beginning January 2013. Will is currently a junior and is from Dayton, Tenn.
