Nearly 2,000 guests will take over the campus in the coming months as Bryan becomes host for summer camps beginning today (Monday, June 3).

The college and Summit Ministries will continue their longstanding partnership as the host for the Tennessee Student Conference in July. Also, NewCamp will be on campus the last two weeks of June, and Skyland Family Conference will return the first week in July.

New this year will be three Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camps, for boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, and a leadership team camp. Ruston Pierce, admissions project manager who coordinated discussions with FCA, said the sports camps will be on campus in June. The leadership camp will be here the first week of July.

“In all, we’ll have about 1,500 students on campus” with the FCA weeks, he said. “These young people will come from all over the south.”

He said Chattanooga FCA staff began using Fort Bluff Camp for their junior high camps this past year and will do so again this summer. “The Chattanooga FCA wants to develop a closer relationship with Bryan,” Mr. Pierce said. “I approached the director about using the campus, which met their need because they were looking for a place for their team camps.”

Tim Hostetler, vice president of operations, said the operations staff used the five weeks between the end of school and the beginning of camps to carry out routine end-of-the-year maintenance projects.
