Best-selling author Eric Metaxas’ live simulcast hosted by Bryan College Tuesday night was a success, with an impressive number of attendees from Dayton and the surrounding communities. Metaxas and Todd Wagner, senior pastor of Watermark Community Church in Dallas, TX, discuss the men chosen for “7 Men and the Secret of Their Greatness” and what it was that set them apart in history.

The Benedict Trio
An hour before the simulcast began, those in attendance had the opportunity to see a special performance by the Benedict Trio – an acoustic musical group consisting of senior David Benedict and alumni Kristin Underwood ’12 and Michael Moore ’13.

Corinne Livesay, Bryan’s director of special projects, said, “We were delighted to have the opportunity to bring to the campus the Benedict Trio to perform a great concert opener for our evening and to hear Eric Metaxas via simulcast from Dallas, Texas.

“Metaxas’ focus in 7 Men resonates with men and women alike because we live in a time when today’s heroes and role models create confusion when we try to answer two significant questions: What is a man? and What makes a man great?  Metaxas answered those questions and more as we heard him tell the stories of seven men of faith who, despite the variety of challenges they faced, used their influence to make the world a better place.”
