Amanda Gross
Hi! My name is Amanda Gross, and I am an Admissions Counselor at Bryan College!
Winston Churchill once said, “Truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but, in the end, there it is.” Truth seems to be becoming more of a relative concept in today’s world; everyone choosing his own way to his ultimate satisfaction. But if every Truth is God’s Truth, then one way only leads to satisfaction through salvation. As a Christian, I feel my calling is to share Truth with all, and the beautiful thing about Bryan College is that the professors’ goals are to teach how to discern Truth and share it in every avenue of life even against the malice and ignorances of the world.
I have just recently finished my time at Bryan in May of 2008, completing the work for a B.A. in English: Secondary Education. I truly cherish my time here at Bryan. I have cultivated friendships that will last for a lifetime, and I praise the Lord for the growth he has led me through to be a better servant for Him.
In high school, I knew I wanted to attend a Christian college, but due to financial difficulty, God pulled me in a different direction. For the first two years of college I attended a local community college, which was very eye opening. Having attended a Christian school all my life, I was in a bit of culture shock. I did not realize how much growth I needed spiritually. Although those years were some of the hardest in my life, I do not regret a single minute. God taught me things that I never would have experienced otherwise, and it made my time at Bryan so much richer in growth. God had stripped away my security, and gave me the hunger to embrace and understand my faith.
I attended Bryan for 3 years, coming out a completely different person than when I started. I was involved in PCI (Practical Christian Involvement), the writing center, and chorale where I met my husband, John Gross, who still currently attends. Through these activities and groups, I learned so much about myself and about the Lord and my calling as a believer. But God’s work is amazing to witness not only personally, but in the surrounding community, revealing his Truths through so many different methods.
Bryan provides so many opportunities for all different types of people, and if God is calling you to be at Bryan College, I would love to talk to you about how He can use you with your own unique talents. You can call me at 800-277-9522 ext. 574 or email at amanda.gross@bryan.edu. I can’t wait to here from you.
