A Letter from the Director

Greetings from Bryan College:

My name is Ben Williams, and I am the Director of Worldview Teams at Bryan College. As someone who works with teenagers, it consistently amazes me how much information our students are asked to deal with on a daily basis. We live in an on-demand culture, one where truth is often portrayed as relative, entertainment is considered a right, and where the fundamental questions of identity and meaning are strangely absent from most peoples’ thoughts. In short, we live amidst the collision of Worldviews.
Now, more than ever before, our students need to have the resources which will enable them to engage these deceptive Worldviews (i.e., Naturalism, Transcendentalism, Postmodernism, etc.). The Bryan College Worldview Teams uses the ideas present in today’s culture to provoke honest discussion about what it means to follow after Christ in an increasingly anti-Christian society. I am passionate about teaching students not only how to discern what is false, but also how to actively counteract the non-biblical assumptions of our culture, higher education, and entertainment.
The team—consisting of a director and Bryan College students—travels to schools, churches, and conferences in the Eastern portions of the United States. In a typical program, the team presents the three main worldview categories: naturalism, transcendentalism, and theism, guiding the audience toward a biblical framework for engaging these issues. Individual team members analyze media examples using clips and quotes from popular movies, songs, books, and current news events within the three main categories. Audience members participate in discussion groups led by the college students and are encouraged to actively engage the material by asking questions throughout the program.
I am excited about how God has used the team in lives of students around the country, and I look forward to being a part of what He will continue to do in the future. I would like to invite you to consider partnering with the Worldview Team in the coming months. We currently have a few openings left in our fall schedule, and I would love to speak with you about the possibility of conducting a program for your organization.

Thank you for your interest, and I hope to hear from you soon.
