The American National Election: November 2012

Election 2012, by Dr. Ron Petitte, a two part, Bryan College, chapel series, developed, introduced, and moderated on behalf of the Center for Leadership Initiatives, and which series served as bookends to Election 2012. Presented on November 5 and 7, 2012, the lead chapel dealt with final thoughts on Campaign 2012; the concluding chapel dealt with the election results and portends for the future. A diverse panel of students participated on November 5; and, an eclectic mix of students, faculty and staff participated on November 7.

Defense Forum: Rear Admiral Red Best, U.S. Navy (Ret.), and one of the U.S.’ most distinguished combat veteran aviators and naval commanders spoke to the state of the nation and the state of the world.

April 13, 2009

LTC Doug Schott, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (B.S. International Affairs); the Air Command & Staff College (Masters equivalent); the National Defense University (second Masters equivalent degree); and the University of Northern Colorado (M.A., Public Administration) and four-time, combat tour, distinguished, veteran pilot in the Viet Nam War, addressed the Defense Forum on the state of the nation and the state of the world, with a focus on the Near East, in a lecture entitled, “The ‘Great Game’ That Never Ends.”

October 22-26, 2007

Dr. Ron Petitte opened the Leadership Week by presenting to the student body the first part of his developing series on Moral Leadership, which series he introduced in New York City's Neighborhood Church of Greenwich Village, as part of the All Things Project. Dr. Petitte has been invited to give a presentation in March 2008 from this series to the Oxford Round Table, an international governmental and scholarly forum, which is held annually at Oxford University, England.

November 15-17, 2006: Dr. Rob Norris, Oxford University scholar

Contrasted Romans 13 with Revelation 13, as Christian guides to government.  Shared his dynamic vision for South Sudan with Bryan’s Politics and Government students, a developing enterprise in which Bryan College is engaged with Fourth Presbyterian Church of Bethesda, Maryland, where Dr. Norris serves as senior pastor.
