LTC Doug Schott, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (B.S. International Affairs); the Air Command & Staff College (Masters equivalent); the National Defense University (second Masters equivalent degree); and the University of Northern Colorado (M.A., Public Administration) and four-time, combat tour, distinguished, veteran pilot in the Viet Nam War, addressed the Defense Forum on the state of the nation and the state of the world, with a focus on the Near East, in a lecture entitled, “The ‘Great Game’ That Never Ends.”April 6, 2009

Dr. Ron Petitte opened the Leadership Week by presenting to the student body the first part of his developing series on Moral Leadership, which series he introduced in New York City's Neighborhood Church of Greenwich Village, as part of the All Things Project. Dr. Petitte has been invited to give a presentation in March 2008 from this series to the Oxford Round Table, an international governmental and scholarly forum, which is held annually at Oxford University, England.Other speakers during Leadership Week included:
