Great start for the Lions

The 2006 men’s soccer season is under way, and the Lions have gotten off to a roaring 4-0-1 start! Bryan went on the road for a 1-0 win over Freed-Hardeman to begin the campaign. It was a hard-fought match with both teams pushing for a goal, but in the end, the Lions prevailed with a 2nd half score from freshman Curt Hays.

Bryan returned home for their Invitational Classic and posted wins over Warren Wilson College of North Carolina (10-0) and Oakland City University, a NCAA II team from Indiana (2-1). The Lions also beat NAIA nationally ranked University of Mobile 2-0 at home the following week.

On Saturday, Sept. 9, Bryan traveled to NCCAA Division I Mid-East rival Asbury College and came home with a 0-0 overtime result.

The Lions have two more non-conference games before traveling to the home of the Scots at Covenant College for Bryan’s first AAC match on Sept. 19. Kick-off is at 5 p.m.
