Newman, Young earn Conference Player of the Week Honors.

Junior Will Newman of Dayton, TN, was announced as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week Monday April 16.  During the week which included a doubleheader split with Berry College and an AAC sweep of Virginia Intermont College, Newman put up some strong offensive stats:

15 AB's, 4 runs, 7 hits, 1 double and 8 RBI's.

Freshman Pitcher Ben Young of Baton Rouge, LA, was announced as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week and the NAIA Region XII Pitcher of the Week.  Ben appeared in all four games the Lions played earning a save and win. 

5.1 innings pitched, 1 save, 1 win, 2 hits, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
