What to Bring

New students often request a list of items that they should bring to college. Here is a good list of basics:

It is a good idea to contact your roommate before your move so you don't end up bringing duplicate items (refrigerator, microwave etc.)  We also recommend that you wait and purchase some of the bigger items after you arrive.  We have a Super-Walmart close by.

What to Bring

  • Alarm Clock
  • Clothes hangers

  • Pillow, sheets and blankets for an extra-long twin bed (39" x 80" x 7" thick mattress)
  • Power Strips with a surge protector
  • Towels, soap, shampoo
  • Wastebasket
  • Instrumentalists: Be sure to bring your instrument to school. There are free storage lockers and plenty of opportunities to play.
  • Business Majors: We encourage (by offering significant bonus points) each of our business students to bring dress clothes to get involved in the Corporate Dress Program. Many of our students dress up most of the time to get used to wearing corporate attire for the "real world" when they graduate. It's also a badge of distinction for the department. If you have any questions about the requirements, you may contact Dr. William Lay.
