Bryan College will host its annual Dean’s Scholarship competition March 18-19, with some 70 prospective students expected to participate in a series of information meetings and scholarship interviews.

Hannah Lee, campus visit coordinator for the admissions office, explained that the Dean’s Scholars have met criteria including earning at least a high school grade average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and scoring at least a 24 on the ACT or 1100 on the SAT college entrance exams.

Prospective students and their parents are to arrive on campus Friday and will have an opportunity that afternoon to tour the campus and meet faculty members. Following a banquet that evening they will be able to attend the “Voices Uplifted” concert and a coffeehouse gathering in their honor.

Saturday’s activities include interviews with faculty and staff to determine which scholars will receive Dean’s Merit Scholarships. There also will be workshops on campus technology and financial aid and an opportunity to pre-register for fall classes. “We also will have a campus activities exhibit to let them know what kind of opportunities are available for them to plug into on campus, in the community and around the world,” Ms. Lee said.
