Bryan celebrates North Hall open house

August 16, 2006
Alumni and friends from the Dayton community toured Bryan’s newest building Wednesday, Aug. 16, as the college sponsored an open house to spotlight its newest residence hall.
During the event, several students moved their belongings into North Hall, giving guests another clue that the building is open for business.
Bryan President Dr. Stephen D. Livesay greeted visitors and briefly reviewed the history of the project, beginning with its approval by trustees in October 2005. Ground was broken in November, the foundation was poured in February and construction of the walls began in March.
He recognized Steve Dillard, owner of Dillard Construction, Inc., the general contractor, and said their efforts enabled the project to be completed so quickly. Mr. Dillard, in turn, thanked the college and his subcontractors for the cooperative spirit that helped complete the job ahead of schedule and under budget.
North Hall has 120 beds on four floors, resident lounges, a computer lab and is wired for residents to have wireless Internet access from their rooms.
