Bryan prepares for Homecoming

A salute to the Class of 1981, naming the Alumni of the Year and inducting members of the Athletics Hall of Fame will highlight Bryan’s homecoming Oct. 6 to 8.

Alumni will gather at 6 p.m. Friday for reunion dinners for the five-year classes beginning with the Class of 1966 in the Alumni Dining Hall.

The Class of 1981, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will meet at the Heartland Grill, and graduates from the Class of 1965 and previous will meet for their Good Ole Days Reunion dinner in the Rhea County Room.

Bryan students in the Christian Education program will provide a Bible school for children ages 4 through fifth grade throughout the weekend, beginning Friday.

Friday’s activities will conclude with a bonfire at 10 p.m., where the Alumni Office will provide the makings for s’mores.

Saturday’s schedule begins at 7:30 a.m., with registration for the Alumni golf tournament at the Dayton Golf and Country Club.

Music department Alumni will have their reunion luncheon in the Rhea County Room at noon, and English department Alumni will have their luncheon in Alumni Dining hall at 12:30 p.m.

The men’s soccer team will take on the William Carey College Crusaders in the homecoming match at 2 p.m. During the afternoon inflatable games will be available for children adjacent to the soccer field.

Alumni will gather for the awards dinner at 6 p.m., when Alumni of the Year and Honorary Alumni will be named, and new honorees will be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The day’s events will conclude with a bluegrass concert in the Grassy Bowl at 8 p.m.

Homecoming will conclude with an Alumni worship service Sunday at 10 a.m. Ron Ruark, Class of 1980, will speak, and Josh Bales, Class of 2003, will lead worship.
