Volleyball Midseason Update

Emerging from their Fall Break, the Lady Lions look to be in prime position to make a serious run into the post-season. The team has chosen not to pursue post-season play in the NCCAA, instead focusing on trying to win a conference championship and make it to the regional championship.

When the Lions return to conference play next Tuesday at Covenant, they will put their second-place standing on the line. The team is 18-8 overall, 10-2 in conference play.  Six conference matches remain, with 4 of those games against the other top conference teams.  After Covenant, the Lions travel to Milligan, then must face AAC #1 King and #3 VIC Saturday, Oct. 28.  Oct. 31, AAC #4 Union comes to town, followed by AAC #5 on Saturday, Nov. 4.  The team holds their fate in their own hands as they seek to build a successful run into post-season.

Statistically, the Lions are high in conference standings as a team and individually.
The Lions rank as the #1 team when all conference-only statistical categories are combined, with a slight lead over Union College. King College ranks third, followed by UVA-Wise and Virginia Intermont College.
