Lady Lions Halt Losing Streak On The Road At Montreat

Montreat,NC--The Lady Lions returned to conference action with a 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-21) road victory at Montreat Tuesday night. The victory halted their 4-game losing streak and keeps them in the race for the AAC regular-season championship.
Outside hitters Gabrielle Claxton (11 kills, 2 blocks) and Alison Young ((12 kills, .529 pct) paced the Lions offense. Middle Hitter Robin Renfroe (12 kills, .411pct, 3 solo, 8 assisted blocks) controlled the front, leading the Lions to 12 total blocks. Kathryn Rawley paced the back row with 17 digs and perfect reception percentage. The Lions, 13-2 in conference play (17-9 overall) travel to Lee University Wednesday for a non-conference match, then will finish their season at home with 3 matches that will decide the AAC Championships. The Lions will host Virginia Intermont Friday at 7, followed by AAC #3 King Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (Senior Day), and will finish their regular season when they host AAC #1 Union on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
