Volleyball players take day to work at Women's Care Center
The Lady Lions volleyball team, in the hunt for the AAC lead, took a break from their fall break workouts, piled in the vans Friday morning, and went to work at the Women's Care Center of Rhea County.
Head Coach Leo Sayles set up the trip through Carol Holloway, who worked with Mrs. Sayles to coordinate work details.
The Lions arrived Friday morning at 9:15, and had finished the list of larger projects by mid-morning. Players moved toys and Christmas items, sorted adult and children's clothing, arranged Care Center materials, swept, mopped, and cleaned the center. Mrs. Holloway had the team spend the rest of the morning assisting with sorting baby clothing. The team shared lunch with the staff, who shared the purpose of the Care Center and spoke with the players about abstinence.
The Lions returned to the college in the afternoon to continue preparations for their weekend matches at Brenau University on Saturday.
