Music Scholarships
Music Scholarship
Amount varies, renewable
Awarded to students who demonstrate musical ability through an individual audition or during a Scholarship Weekend Event. Recipients are selected by the Music Department in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid. Music Scholarships are available to music majors and minors. If you are interested in being considered for this scholarship, complete the following steps by March 31:
- Prepare a 15-minute audition consisting of at least three selections of a contrasting nature (historic periods; genres for vocalists such as oratorio, musical theater, art song; etc.). Selections need not be memorized, but memorization is usually more impressive. A professional accompanist will be provided if needed; pre-recorded accompaniments may also be used.

- E-mail Jody Cheon in admissions to schedule an audition during a Scholarship Weekend Event.
- E-mail Hannah Johnson in admissions to schedule an individual audition to be conducted by March 31.
Musical Merit Scholarship
$4,000, renewable
Awarded to first-time freshmen who are pursuing a major in music and demonstrate exceptional music talent. Two new Musical Merit Scholarship recipients are selected per year. This award is made in lieu of the music scholarship. Candidates must audition with the music faculty during a spring semester Scholarship Weekend Event and be accepted for admission by January 15. If you qualify for this scholarship but have not yet recieved information about the Scholarship Weekend Event, please conatact your admissions counselor.
