2008 Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational Results

Sewanee, TN - Bryan College set three facility records inside the Fowler Center and finished fourth in the team standings at the Tiger Indoor Invitational hosted by Sewanee University.

The men were lead by sophomore Daniel Goetz, as he produced one facility record in the mile and anchored the men's distance medley relay to another.  Goetz took the mile in 4:21.44, winning by over eight seconds, as well as finished second in the 800 with an indoor personal best of 1:59.95.

Freshmen Zach Mobley cruised to a new record of 1:57.67 in the men's 800 meter run.  He was also apart of the men's DMR.  Two other freshmen took part of the winning relay squad as Bryson Haper and Drew Nunnelly ran the first two legs.  Harper had taken third in the men's mile earlier in the day.  Nunnelly was competing in his fourth event of the afternoon as he competed in the long jump, as well as the 55 and 200 meter dashes.  Josh Bradley took fourth in the men's mile to round out the scoring for the Lions.

"Goetz looked in control during his races and I think he is gaining some confidence heading into the next few weekends.  Mobley somehow managed the tight turns.  The guys understand they probably won't run super fast on Sewanee's small 160 meter oval, but they still have a lot of fun competing." Said coach Rodney Stoker.

The Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Virginia is up next for the Lions on February 22nd & 23rd.
