Bryan College’s Hilltop Players will present “Into the Woods,” Stephen Sondheim’s musical retelling of several classic fairy tales Thursday through Saturday, April 12 – 14, in Rudd Auditorium.

“Into the Woods” combines the stories of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood into a new tale with the Baker and his wife (the central plot drivers) added illustrating how the choices individuals make and the steps taken to meet goals impact life, love, values and personal responsibility.
The Hilltop Players’ production features Katie Fridsma, a senior from Winter Springs, Fla., as the Baker’s Wife; Nathan Schmidt, a senior from Elizabethton, Tenn., as the narrator and “the mysterious man”; Jeremy Moore, a junior from Prattville, Ala., as the Baker; Jennilee Elliott, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., as Cinderella; Wesley Callihan, a junior from Arcadia, Fla., as Jack; Ryan Traub, a sophomore from Dillsburg, Pa., as Rapunzel’s Prince; and Johnny Miller, a junior from Staunton, Va., as Cinderella’s Prince. Cast members from Dayton include Cameron Lane, Emily Ricketts, Allison Hendrix and Katrina Wise.

Music is under the direction of Dr. Mel Wilhoit, chair of the Music Department and Mr. Bernie Belisle, director of the theatre program. Sets were designed and painted by Dayton resident Nela Swiney, art teacher at Dayton City School.
