Bryan College Competes at NAIA National Champs

November 17, 2007

Kenosha, WI-- Bryan College finished 27th at the NAIA National Championship on Saturday.  Malone College took the men's team title with 59 points.  Bryan was led by junior Daniel Goetz who finished 90th covering the eight-kilometer course in 26:10.90.  The individual title went to Azusa Pacific's Aron Rono in 23:52.10.

Freshmen Bryson Harper ran as the number two athlete for Bryan when he finished in 26:56.40 at 184th place.  Rounding out the scoring for the Lions were sophomore Josh Bradley, junior Andrew Dorn and freshmen Zach Mobley

"Obviously we are disappointed with our finish at the championship.  Our performance was not a good representation of our athletes nor the season they had.  I'm not disappointed in the athletes, as they competed hard and feel they, as well as myself,  can learn much from this experience.  It takes a very assertive effort in the early going to have a chance in a championship race with this caliber of athlete.  We will look forward to returning our entire roster next year at this time.  It's now time for some rest and reflecting on our season.  And then we'll turn our focus to the track.  I'd personally like to thank the many supporters that made the trip to cheer on their Lions," said coach Rodney Stoker.
