What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual enrollment is a program that allows high school students to simultaneously earn college credit that will also count as high school credit.

 

Is Dual Enrollment Right for Everyone?

No. Dual Enrollment courses offer an opportunity to take challenging courses and gain a jump start to your college education. Dual enrollment courses are college courses. Students should understand that the amount of work necessary to succeed in dual enrollment courses may be much greater than in high school courses.

 

Who is Eligible for Dual Enrollment Courses?

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must be a junior or senior and at least 16 years old.
  • Must have a 3.0 minimum grade point average to enroll in college courses.
  • Meet all admissions requirements

High school juniors and seniors who are Tennessee residents may apply
