Lions NCCAA baseball regional runners-up

The Bryan Lions baseball team ended their season May 11 as runner-up in the NCCAA Division I Mid-East Regional baseball tournament, falling 6-0 to Bluefield College.
The Lions, hosting the tournament for the first time since reviving their baseball program four years ago, defeated Oakland City, Ind., University 6-5 in the opening game of the tournament on May 10, before Bluefield, Va., College defeated Mid-Continent University of Mayfield, Ky., 15-2.
In the first elimination game on Thursday, Oakland City defeated Mid-Continent 7-6.
Game four pitted the unbeaten Bluefield Rams against Bryan, with Bluefield prevailing 8-3. The Lions’ loss set up a Friday morning rematch with Oakland City. Once again, Bryan defeated the Mighty Oaks 6-3.
Bluefield advances to the NCCAA national tournament May 16, in Struthers, Ohio.
