Rafting1.jpgAccording to one student, "Bryan's one of the busiest, most active places on the planet."  Opportunities for leadership at Bryan abound. Whether through the Student Government Association or in many of the clubs and organizations on campus, you can develop and refine your leadership skills on campus as you are encouraged and directed by caring mentors.

The Student Government Association (SGA) has designated a specific committee comprised of one officer from each class and two vice presidents, one for on-campus and one for off-campus activities. These student leaders seek to provide frequent events to take a break and just hang out. On-campus events include banquets, concerts, and athletic contests. Located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains means plenty of chances for outdoor action. SGA sponsors white water rafting on the Ocoee River, skiing at Ober Gatlinburg, a midnight river boat masquerade, and lots of other great events.  A night at the "Oscars" is a gala event where student films are awarded special recognition. We're not too far (30 minutes) from downtown Chattanooga. Knoxville is pretty close, too.

Catalyst.jpgA strong community life includes playing together and enjoying time away from class with one another, whether it be through ministry-focused events such as Kerusso; a bi-monthly time of extended worship, scripture reading, and prayer provided by the ministry council; Bible studies; mentoring groups; and community outreach events.

In addition to the activities provided by the various committees within the Student Government Association and by the 40+ clubs and organizations on campus, each dorm and each floor has a council which plans periodic activities for the dorm or floor. Each individual club or organization also seeks to provide activities, such as study break parties and holiday-themed parties, for its members. If that's not enough, just grab a few friends and start a game of ultimate Frisbee or go for a hike in the nearby Laurel Snow wilderness area.  We're literally minutes from this wilderness paradise--with camping, rappelling, spelunking, hiking, and canoeing.
