A famous person I've met: I have eaten at the same restaurant as Carrie Underwood.
A random fact about myself: Performed the Heimlich maneuver on my baby sister when I was 8 years old, and saved her from choking. (Granted, the only reason she only swallowed the penny because I had convinced her she couldn’t make them disappear.)
Why I wanted to become an RA: God made me a people person. I was that kid in school who was always getting in trouble for joking around and talking when I was supposed to be paying attention. This is just how I am wired. I love getting to know those around me, and finding something to laugh about. I wanted to become and RA because of this, I want to be there for the girls on my hall every day. My door will always be open for them, to come with problems, stories or whatever they need.
What I love about Bryan: I love the classic small school environment of Bryan. I love that I can know my fellow students well and that the professors can too. For all the joking about the emphasis on community at Bryan there really is a great support system here. I have grown in my faith and as a person since coming to school and Bryan has been a wonderful place for this.
Lily is a junior and is beginning her first year as a resident assistant.

Everyone here, including the student body, professors, administration, and all the other groups of people, has the opportunity to know one another on a deep level and to invest into one another's lives. A random fact about myself: I have a passion for deaf children.
Why I wanted to become an RA: I want to make the dorm a home for the girls, and to give them a loving supportive environment they can live in. I also want to love people so they can see me as more than an authority figure. I want to be there for the girls so they know they have someone to go to if they need anything, whether it be someone to be crazy with, or to vent to, or even to just sit around and eat cookie dough with.
What I love about Bryan: Coming from a community college my freshman year, I am so amazed at how loving the environment is at Bryan. I know that sounds really cheesy, but I love simply being able to pass a complete stranger, smile at them, and to have them smile back and say, "Hey!" I also love my professors. They will make you work hard, but most of them will bend over backwards to help you succeed in their class. Some professors will bring their families to eat dinner in the cafeteria and I love being able to see them as they are. They're very transparent and real with their students, and it gives me a trust for them that most students don't have. Lastly, and most importantly, I love the spiritual atmosphere. I'm not going to pretend that everyone is a Christian, just because we're a Christian school. However, if you do have a sincere relationship with God, Bryan is such a nurturing place to be. It goes deeper than just going to chapels. You can just feel God's presence on the campus. There have been so many times when I'm stressed and I tell one of my friends, only to have them say, "Can I pray for you right now?" It's such a blessing!
