Lions down Scots in soccer at Bryan

The Bryan men’s soccer team treated a throng of the Lions’ faithful to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over rival Covenant College Tuesday, Sept. 18.

Diego Taucano opened the scoring for the Lions on an assist from Curt Hays. Scott Davidson scored on a penalty kick.

Covenant got on the board as Julian Allgeier scored with 11 minutes remaining in the game.

A surprise fireworks display punctuated the win, as the Lions moved to 8-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

Earlier at Covenant, the Bryan volleyball team beat the Scots in three straight matches, 30-24, 30-19 and 30-12 to improve to 6-0 in conference play.
