Dayton, TN—The NCCAA has announced its 2007 All-Region Teams for Women’s Volleyball, and the Bryan College Lady Lions had five players receive awards. The Lady Lions compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and are members of the NCCAA Mid-East Region.
Heading the list of honorees for the Lady Lions were Junior MB Robin Renfroe and Senior Libero Kathryn Rawley who were named to the NCCAA All Mid-East Region First Team. Renfroe is one of the most decorated athletes ever to come through Bryan’s program under Head Coach Leo Sayles, while Rawley recently shattered the school record for digs in a season and career during the Lions run through their conference and NAIA Regional tournaments.
The Lady Lions also landed three players on the NCCAA All Mid-East Region Second Team as well, as Sophomores Amber Smith and Gabrielle Claxton and Freshman Allison Young were honored. The Lady Lions will begin competition at the NCCAA National Tournament next week as they prepare to make a push for a National Championship. Unfortunately, the Lions will be without Renfroe who sustained a season ending injury during the Regional Tournament, but Coach Sayles is confident in the strength and depth of his bench.
