How to Setup Vista’s Windows Mail to Access Your Bryan Mail
- Open Windows Mail to begin the setup.
- In Windows Mail click Tools, Accounts.
- Click Add…
- Select “Email Account” and click Next
- Type your name in the Display Name. Click Next.
- Type your email address in the email address box. Next.
- Choose POP3 or IMAP. Side note. POP3 by default downloads and removes your email from the server. IMAP synchronizes your mail.
- If you choose POP3 or IMAP put mail.bryan.edu in the incoming mail box.
- Put smtp.bryan.edu in the outgoing mail server box. Click Next.
- Put your BryanNet username in the Account name box.
- Put your password in the password box. Next
- Click Finish.
- Then click mail.bryan.edu and then click Properties.
- Click the Server tab and check the box under Outgoing mail server that says "My server requires authentication."
- Then click the Advanced tab.
- Check the box under Outgoing mail that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)."
- Check the box under Incoming mail that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)."
- Click OK.
- Click Close.
- Click Send/Recv to download your mail.
