     Dayton, TN— It would seem congratulations are in order for Lady Lions’ Head Coach Jamy Bechler and his squad: The Bryan College Lady Lions have worked hard on the court this season, with the goal of defending their Appalachian Athletic Conference Title, and apparently, the Lady Lions have been working just as hard behind the scenes in the classroom.

     As grades were released at the semester break, Coach Bechler was thrilled to receive the following news about his team:

·         Overall Lady Lion Basketball GPA was 3.23

·         Lady Lion Varsity Basketball GPA was 3.13

·         Lady Lion J.V. Basketball GPA was 3.41

·         19 of 23 players in the Lady Lion Basketball program had a 3.0 GPA or better

·         12 of 15 Lady Lion varsity Basketball players had a 3.0 GPA or better

·         5 of 15 Lady Lion varsity Basketball players had a 3.5 GPA or better

 

     Year in and Year out, teams are plagued by players who become ineligible at the mid year break, but this Lady Lions team seems more than capable of handling both the hard work and dedication it takes to compete in college, and the academic rigors of a private institution like Bryan College.
