Carswell Joins Davis as Team Captain
January 12, 2008DAYTON, TN (12-26-07) -- Bryan College head women's basketball coach, Jamy Bechler, announced today that Kaylin Carswell was selected as a captain for the Lady Lions. "Kaylin is well-respected by her teammates and for good reason," said Bechler. "She is an 'A' student in the classroom, a hard-worker on the court, a strong Christian, and a talented player. I absolutely couldn't be more pleased with Kaylin and Katie leading us in the second semester." Carswell has earned two varsity letters for the Lady Lion basketball team. She also is a starter on the Bryan College regionally-ranked volleyball team. The 5'11 wing player hails from Lenoir, North Carolina and played at West Caldwell H.S. Carswell joins fellow junior, Katie Davis, as captain of the Bryan College women's basketball team. Davis was previously elected captain by her teammates in the fall. She is currently leads the Lady Lions in scoring, rebounding, and assists. "Katie has done an exceptional job of being a team leader this year", said Bechler. "She is a joy to coach. Katie is one of the hardest workers on the team. She has led us in rebounding in nearly every game despite being a guard." Carswell fills the leadership void created on the team when Kellie Thurman choose to withdraw from school.
