Ooltewah Post Player Signs with Bryan College

Chattanooga, TN (11/25/07)-- Sarah Newton, the 6'1 Ooltewah HS star, signed a letter of intent today to play basketball at Bryan College.  Newton is averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds for the coach Chris Baker's Lady Owl team.  "I am excited to have Sarah coming to join us next year", said Bryan College head coach Jamy Bechler.  "She knows how to post-up down low and put the ball in the basket.  I have enjoyed getting to know Sarah, her family and her coaches."  Sarah played summer ball for Ken Smith.  Her team won the YBOA National Championship this past summer in Orlando, Florida.  She becomes the third high school player to publicly sign with the Lady Lions.  Newton joins former AAU teammate, Anna Thomas, and Pickett County's Ashley Padgett in Bechler's first recruiting class at Bryan College.
