Renfroe, Smith receive NCCAA national honors

December 05, 2007
Several individual Lady Lions capped off a marvelous season with post-season honors.  In a press release earlier today, Bryan's Junior MB Robin Renfroe from Northport, AL was named to the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) All-American First Team, the first player in Bryan history to receive such an honor.
In the same release, Soph. MB Amber Smith from Pompano Beach, FL was selected to the NCCAA Championship All-Tournament team.
Renfroe and Smith were joined by Bryan senior Libero Kathryn Rawley and OH Gabrielle Claxton in earning NCCAA All Mid-east region honors earlier this month.
"What a wonderful way to finish off a marvelous season," commented Bryan's head coach Leo Sayles. "I am delighted Robin was blessed with such an honor.  Although the team played most of the post-season without her, she carried us through the season.  Amber Smith has had a "quiet" season in Robin's shadow, but emerged as one of our go-to players in post-season.  She has a good series of matches at nationals, and was instrumental in our victory over Southwestern Assemblies to force the 3-way tie.  We are blessed to carry these two and many other gifted athletes into next season."
