Davis shot 46% from the floor, 35% from beyond the arc and 81% at the free throw line in addition to having a + assist: turnover ratio.
After a successful week in which the Lady Lions went 3-0, Bryan Jr. Guard Katie Davis was named the NCCAA National Player of The Week as well as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of The Week. Congratulations to Katie for her tremendous play!
Jamy Bechler had the following to say about his star guard:
“Katie is a tremendous joy to coach. She is an extremely hard-worker and I am glad to see that she was recognized for her efforts, especially this past week. I know that she was even more happy that we won all of those games last week. Even though she has been doing well all year, she has been disappointed that we haven’t been able to break through and collect some wins until this week. She has never played point guard before but with KeKe’s injury, she enthusiastically moved over to that spot and handled the ball very well. Not only did her scoring improve but so did her assists and rebounding and her turnovers actually went down. She is a special student-athlete and I couldn’t be more happy for this young lady. To win both honors in one week is huge, and I think it speaks volumes about her worth to our team.”
