Music Major Options
Our Music Program is unusual in many ways because of its versatility and flexibility. We have 10 options within the Music Major that allow you to tailor-make a program that meets your needs and fulfills your dreams.

The 10 options are:
Music Performance: For those interested in specializing in a highly focused area of performance. Generally geared toward taking graduate study to further perfect your performing skills. Performance areas in voice, keyboard (organ or piano) and standard band/orchestral instruments.
Music Ministry/Church Music: For those interested in learning how to develop their musical gifts for ministry in the local church, mission field, or independent music ministries.
Music Education:
Vocal General track and Instrumental track: For those seeking preparation for teacher licensure in public or private school, K-12.
Piano Pedagogy: For those desiring to set up and run a piano teaching studio or focus on private piano instruction. Excellent preparation for graduate school.
Church Music/Christian Ministry: Designed for those seeking to combine their interests in music ministry and Christian ministry, including youth or senior adult ministries.
Music Technology: For those seeking a specific focus in the music recording industry. Involves 2 years at Bryan, then transferring to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro (near Nashville) for one year, and then returning to Bryan for the senior year.
Contemporary Music: For those interested in the current music industry of pop culture. Includes one semester (end of junior or beginning of senior year) at the Contemporary Music Center (run by the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities) at Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.
Musical Theatre: For those interested in preparing for amateur, regional or professional musical theater--performance, direction, support staff or administration.
Music Administration: for those seeking to combine their interests in music and business, leading to positions in music retail, wholesale, arts management, music publishing, etc.
