"I'm proud of the girls. It was a great team effort and a big victory," were Coach Sayles comments on tonight's win. Tonight was the first road game for the Lady Lions and it took all they had to pull this one out in 5 games. They lost the first game 23-25, won the second 25-20, and then lost the third 19-25. Going into the fourth match it was do or die for the Lady Lions. Union University was up 25-24 and it was looking like they were going to serve a loss to our ladies. However, the girls stepped it up and won the game 28-26. Then in the fifth game, the Lady Lions jumped up 14-7. Union scored the next 3 points trying to make a run, but the girls held them off and won the fifth game 15-10 to win the match. Coach Sayles said that everyone played well tonight, but hose who stood out were Robin Renfroe with 12 kills and 4 blocks, Alison Young with 11 kills and 15 digs, and Amanda Manke with 26 assist and 15 digs. The Lady Lions are now 3-2 and will travel to Union College on Friday for their first conference match.
