Events

The Career Planning Office is a proactive office that seeks to engage students in the process of self exploration. While not all of our events are listed, here are some of the major events during the course of a year:Student with books

Fall Semester

  • Career Planning Office Open House: This event is designed to encourage students, faculty, and staff to visit the Career Planning Office. In just a few minutes, you will receive a gift, register for the pizza drawing, and get free literature about the services provided. This is a high-traffic event that draws students in from every class. The majority of students are freshmen, which gives the student workers and director of Career Planning a great opportunity to meet and welcome them.
  • Graduate School and Professional Fair: This event is the only recruiting on Bryan Campus for graduate schools and seminaries. Our first fair was in 2004 and was well attended by both students and recruiters. The fair is located in the hall of the 2nd floor of the Latimer Student Center and is widely promoted to students.
  • Finals week: Merry Christmas from the Career Planning Office! We are delighted to serve coffee, hot chocolate, and peppermint candy canes to students during this often stressful time.

Spring Semester

  • Summer Camp Fair: The fair is held in early February in the Hallway of the Latimer Center and adjoining rooms. Camps from the east coast and southeast have found this to be a great opportunity to network with Bryan students. The event is from 12 noon. - 2 p.m. and lunch is provided to recruiters.

During the year, professors will network with the Career Office to assist while they are at a conference. Some of the presentations that are available are:

  • Interviewing to Win
  • Stop Thinking Like an Employee: how to boost your career into a new orbit
  • The Job Hunt: take control and land the job you want!
  • How to Prepare a Winning Resume
  • Business Lunch? Table etiquette you will need to know!
