Hilltop Players will present “Lost in Yonkers,” Neil Simon’s poignant treatment of life in the face of disappointments and tragedy, in dessert (M-Th & Sat 7 pm) and dinner theatre (Fri 6:30 pm) productions Jan. 26 to 31.

Director Bernie Belisle said “Lost in Yonkers” is set in New York in 1942. “After the death of their mother, two young brothers are sent to stay with their formidable grandmother for the longest 10 months of their lives. Grandmother Kurnitz is a one-woman German front—a refugee and a widow who has steeled her heart against the world."

“The play is filled with characters you can’t help but empathize with,” Mr. Belisle said. “It is a story filled with laughter, tears and insight.”

“Lost in Yonkers” will be presented nightly beginning at 7 p.m. in Brock Hall in Rudd Auditorium when dessert is served. Friday’s show will be a dinner theatre presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m., and reservations are required. Phone the box office at 423.775.7500 for tickets to any performance.
