Practical Christian Involvement Ministries

2009-2010 PCI Ministry Team Leaders

Break for Change is the short-term mission movement of Bryan College, involving students and faculty, and staff at national and international locations each Spring Break.   Each team has a unique ministry focus, tailored to the needs of their destination and ministry partners. Evangelism seeks to begin spiritually significant conversations with unbelievers in the Dayton area, sharing the Gospel and praying with those in need.

LIFE Club participants meet with area high school students in small groups to address issues such as abstinence, secondary virginity, love, body image and respect. LIFE Club members encourage the students to make wise decisions in their dating relationships and show them Christ’s redeeming love.

Lifeblood supports the Banjara Tribal Ministries Orphanage in Hyderabad, India. The orphanage lodges, feeds and educates close to 2,000 “untouchable” children who would otherwise be susceptible to sale as laborers, prostitutes or temple sacrifices. Bryan students provide financially for children at the orphanage by giving blood plasma and donating the proceeds to the orphanage.

Pals provides Bryan students with the opportunity to create a deep relationship with children between the ages of 6 and 12. These children and the Bryan Pals are mutually blessed by the Pal friendships.

Prison Ministry visits inmates at the local jail to share friendship, encouragement, and the gospel.

RIDE (Reaching Individuals with Disabilities Effectively) uses horses and horseback riding to help children overcome physical and developmental disabilities.

Senior Adult Ministry connects Bryan students to residents at local nursing homes. The Bryan students’ activities range from leading worship services and exercise classes to providing a listening ear and a friendly touch.

SSTOP (Students Stopping the Trafficking of Persons) raises awareness among students about the global problem of trafficking, facilitates dialogue about trafficking and thoughtful solutions from a Biblical perspective, urges those in power to use their resources to prevent trafficking, and supports those who participate in local and international work to restore trafficked victims.

Students in Service assists community members with home repairs, yard work, cleaning and building projects. The Bryan students aim to connect personally with those whom they serve.

Students for Life promotes the sanctity of human life by serving at the local Women's Care Center and raising awareness of issues and opportunities among the student body.

Testify shares the message of the Gospel creatively through its two sections: drama and movement. Testify designs its programs, combination of songs, theatre, mime, sign language, and drama, to share at local churches and other events. Contact testify@bryan.edu
