Conferences for High School Students

Junior & Senior Conference

Movement can be defined as "a change of place or posture, an organized effort to promote or attain an end"; or it can be defined more simply as "motion." The Movement Conference is the first and most important step towards a full understanding of the Christian story and way of being and acting in the world. It is the beginning of an effort towards the goal of our local communities hearing and being changed by the gospel. Most simply it is a move forward to authentic faith and truth.

The Movement Conference is a highly interactive multimedia program designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors. The daylong conference is focused on understanding the Christian Worldview and answering the question who are we in relation to everything thing else that is? By exploring who God is, who we are, and what culture is, we give students a fresh look into the life we are called to live. Our use of pop-culture examples, interactive breakout sessions led by our collegiate staff, and fresh content make Movement a conference every student must be a part of.

Freshman & Sophomore Conference

Today’s students are inundated with voices from the media, entertainment, church, their friends, families, and social networks–each attempting to shape the way they understand and live in the world.  Making sense of these voices is one of the more difficult challenges facing the next generation and something that is increasingly difficult to keep up with for parents, teachers, and youth workers.

The Voices Conference is a multimedia program designed specifically for high school freshmen and sophomores and seeks to begin a dialogue about how to make sense of the confusion in their lives–pointing them back to a truly Christian understanding of the world.  Through engaging with significant pop-culture examples and smaller group dialogue, this day conference will help orient your students toward a helpful dialogue about how the Gospel should drive our understanding of ourselves, the culture around us, and the various influences on our lives.

Chapel Programs and Retreats

The Worldview Initiative staff is also available for local chapel programs and spiritual formation retreats. For weekend programs and retreats, we value spending time with students through activities especially service projects in the community. The directors, Ben and Bonnie-Marie, are also available for multiple day engagements.
