Construction begins on Phase II of the new entrance
June 25, 2009
"Before the students return in the fall," President Stephen Livesay explained, "workers will relocate a student parking lot and a practice soccer field and will move 40,000 cubic yards of dirt to begin laying the foundation for the roadbed."
Dr. Livesay noted that future steps in this construction project include bringing up utilities (sewer, water, and communication lines) beneath the new road to support the continued growth on Bryan hill. In addition, 2,200 truckloads of dirt will be moved from one campus hill to the construction site to prepare the way not only for the new entrance but also for other construction that is part of the Vision 2020 campus expansion plan.
