Bryan prepares response to swine flu threat
August 21, 2009
Bryan College classes will begin Wednesday, Aug. 26, as health officials nationally express concerns about H1N1 (swine flu) in academic settings, including colleges.
Dr. Peter Held, vice president for student life, said Bryan officials are cooperating with health officials and have taken steps to address the matter should there be an outbreak on campus.
“We continue to work closely with the Bryan Polyclinic in cooperation with local, state and federal health officials to monitor and respond to the situation with regard to H1N1 (swine flu),” Dr. Held said. “We are scheduled to provide the vaccination on campus when that becomes available. Students and employees have been urged to be faithful to use either the soap and towels or disinfectant hand cleaner provided throughout campus.
