Homecoming set Oct. 2-4
September 17, 2009
Bryan College will host its annual Homecoming celebration Oct. 2-4, welcoming alumni to campus for a weekend of renewing relationships and forming new friendships.
Alumni Director David Tromanhauser said, “Homecoming is the big event of the year that we encourage alums to come back to campus. We make a significant effort to get them to come back.”
At the same time, he said he appreciates current students’ willingness to adjust their routines to accommodate Homecoming and encourages them to gather with alumni and learn from their stories and memories. He said “When they get to be alums, they will see the value of this time of fellowship. You may not see your friends for 30 years, and the conversation still picks up where you left off.”
Mr. Tromanhauser is expecting a great turnout this year, despite the economic recession. He said there has been a particularly strong response from members of the class of 1984, who are returning for their 25th reunion this year.
The highlight of Homecoming 2009 will be the celebration of the progress made on the long-awaited entrance from U.S. 27. Other events include the Alumni Golf Tournament, the Alumni Dinner and Awards Ceremony, and alumni baseball, soccer, and basketball games.
