The Bryan Music Department’s Fall Musical Showcase will spotlight student, alumni and faculty performances of classics to Broadway on Friday, Nov. 6.

“The music reflects a spectrum of styles that range from grand opera to Broadway,” said Dr. Mel R. Wilhoit, director of Bryan’s Music Department. “In addition to faculty performances, this concert will showcase the wonderful talents of current students and alumni. For a small school, we’re doing some amazing things.”

This Showcase will feature the Bryan Chorale and Women’s Chorus singing some of the great opera choruses including “The Anvil Chorus” from Il Trovatore and the “Triumphal March” from Aida.

Senior music major Kimberly McKennett will perform a movement from the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 with orchestral accompaniment. The concert will also spotlight soloists Kimberly Keck, David Luther and Kelly Stultz. Special guest Dan Snyder, Bryan alumnus, '87, and acclaimed dramatic tenor soloist from New York City, will sing operatic arias including “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot. All selections from opera classics to Broadway tunes will be accompanied by an orchestra and directed by Dr. Wilhoit.

The performance at Rudd Auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m. is free.
