Approximately 150 graduates will receive their diplomas as Bryan College celebrates its fall commencement Friday, Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m., at the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga.

Academic Vice President Dr. Bradford Sample said a majority of the graduates are from the School of Adult and Graduate Studies as most students completing their studies through the School of Arts and Sciences march in the May graduation.

Graduates await the beginning of the
2009 fall commencement program.
Degrees to be awarded include the Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science.

Speaker for the event will be the Rev. Tony Walliser, senior pastor of Silverdale Baptist Church in Chattanooga. He served as pastor or associate pastor in churches in Texas and Florida before moving to Chattanooga to join the staff of Silverdale Baptist in 1995. He became senior pastor there in 2000.

Dr. Paul Boling, chairman of the college’s Christian Studies division and father of Bryan Boling, who will receive his degree during the ceremony, will read scripture. James Koan II, father of Joy Koan who also is in the graduating class, will deliver the benediction.

During the ceremony the college will present an award for the highest scholastic record during a student’s attendance at Bryan, and will present the Degree Completion Research Award to Cindy Cross, who will receive the Bachelor of Science degree. Ms. Cross, senior director of legal services at Life Care Centers of America, Inc., in Cleveland, Tenn., is being honored for her research paper titled “Effects of the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Program in the Participants at Life Care Centers of America, Inc.”
