Lt. Col. Oliver North, a combat-decorated Marine, a best-selling author, and host of “War Stories” on the Fox News Channel, will be the featured speaker during the fourth annual Bryan Opportunity Dinner April 14.

Lt. Col. North served on President Reagan’s National Security staff and was the government’s counterterrorism coordinator. Since 2001, he has been the host of War Stories–the award-winning military documentary series on Fox News Channel. He has authored 11 books – all of them New York Times bestsellers.

His appearance will benefit the Bryan Opportunity Program, an effort by Bryan College to assure that all eligible Tennessee students can afford to attend Bryan regardless of financial need. Blake Hudson, Bryan’s vice president for advancement, explained that the program provides funds to supplement federal and state grants to students from families with incomes less than $35,000 per year who want to attend Bryan.

“Thanks to the generous support of our alumni and friends, we have been able to help 56 deserving students through the Bryan Opportunity Program this year, and there is a growing need for this type of assistance,” Mr. Hudson said. “We are excited to have Oliver North as our speaker this year, and believe this will be a special evening.”

The Bryan Opportunity Program Dinner will be held April 14, at the Chattanooga Convention Center, beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. Tickets, at $50 per person, are available online or by calling 423-775-7323.
